The Fantasy Football Club on Sky Sports welcomed former Leeds, Reading, Bournemouth, and Republic Of Ireland left-back Ian Harte into to studio this week, and as is the norm with all of their guests, he talked Max Rushen and Paul Merson through his all-time teammate XI.
While it may not feature the likes of Zinedine Zidane, Luis Figo, or Roberto Carlos, Hartey's XI is a wonderful throwback to the turn of the millennium, and is a great blend of the Ireland and Leeds sides that were so enjoyable to watch at that time:
Nigel Martyn
It was always going to be difficult having played with Shay Given for the Irish team, and Paul Robinson, but for me, Nigel Martyn was pretty amazing.
As a defender, you need someone that's going to be vocal behind you, but he was also quite calming.
Gary Kelly
Have to look after the uncle, Uncle Gary.
Kells was unbelievable, he had some difficult games against the likes of Ryan Giggs, but great ability going forward, and I know that he picked me, so..
Denis Irwin
He's got to be in my team. Consistent, a 7 or 8 every game, with both feet he had great ability. He was pretty amazing at free-kicks too.
Jonathan Woodgate
One of the best centre-halves I've ever played with, very unfortunate with injuries.
If he was fit, he probably would have been better than Rio.
Rio Ferdinand
Probably one of the best centre-halves that has played in the English game.
Lee Bowyer
A grafter, he'll do a shift for you on the right wing.
He was fantastic, and he used to come and pick me up when I was in digs and take me to training, so we got on well.
Harry Kewell
Between himself and Ryan Giggs, I think probably, for the best left winger in English football for some time.
Roy Keane (c)
We played against Holland at Lansdowne Road, and Roy smashed into Marc Overmars within two minutes of the game and that set the tone. Thankfully we won that game one-nil.
Physical player, hates losing.
Olivier Dacourt
He was amazing.
He was a great player, whithin a young group of lads, his experience helped us along.
Mark Viduka
For me, I've got to put him in.
That game at Anfield..
Robbie Keane
What a career he's had, and still playing.
He obviously looks after himself, which is why he's still playing today. Whether or not he starts, he's great around the dressing room and lads will be feeding off of his experience.
A really well balanced side, packed full of Leeds United glory-days nostalgia. Well played Ian.
