Hull City owner Assem Allam won't be adding to his popularity with Hull fans today as he has formally applied to the FA to change the clubs long standing name to 'Hull Tigers'. Fans have been so put off by the change that they started a petition some time ago which has now received over 7,000 signatures.

Allam who has invested £72 million into Hull City and brought them into The Premier League offered any fans unhappy with the name change a refund on their season tickets. He has also been generous in other areas around Hull donating millions to a local hospital for cancer research.
For that kind of money I'd let him change it to anything he likes!
