Cork City's Sean McLoughlin looks set to join Hull City, with the clubs reportedly agreeing an undisclosed fee for the 22-year-old defender.
Interest has been high in McLoughlin for some time now, with Preston North End and Portsmouth also reportedly weighing up bids but according to RTÉ, the Corkman will be a Hull player by the end of the week.
Currently managed by Northern Irishman, Grant McCann, Hull have no Irish players in their senior squad at the moment but have had plenty in recent years, including the likes of David Meyler, Robbie Brady, Paul McShane and Brian Lenihan, who also joined from Cork City in 2014.
McLoughlin has been an ever-present in the Cork City team since breaking into the first eleven in the early part of last season. His contract was due to expire at the end of this term but he should be part of the Hull set-up in time for the start of their Championship season when they travel to Swansea City on August 3rd.
Meanwhile, Jayson Molumby has signed a new contract with Brighton and Hove Albion, which will run until the end of the 2021 season. The Irish Under 21 international captain will spend the season on loan at Millwall.
