Dundalk and Cork City are facing off tonight in the SSE Airtricity league. Before the match only a point separated the sides at the top of the table, but it's Dundalk who have drawn first blood in the tie, after Pat Hoban capitalised on a goalkeeping blunder from Cork City keeper Mark McNulty.
Dundalk were awarded a free-kick to the left of the goal around 30 yards out. Ronan Murray drove a fierce shot towards goal which McNulty could not keep a hold of and Pat Hoban duly tucked in from close range.

Things went from bad to worse for Cork who had their captain Conor McCormack substituted after 20 minutes. McCormack was subbed after being yellow carded in what looks like a move by the Cork management to prevent him from being sent off.

McNulty did atone somewhat for his error, saving a penalty in the second half but it wasn't enough to stop Dundalk from claiming the three points.
