The Martin O'Neill and Roy Keane Ireland management partnership is yet to be inked but it is pretty much a done deal according to various reports in today's papers. O'Neill and Keane are both working for ITV on their coverage of Man Utd's Champions League tie against Real Sociedad on Tuesday. The FAI would prefer to have the deal wrapped up before then but will likely have to wait until the pair return from Spain.
In today's papers are also reports of how much O'Neill and Keane will earn as manager and assistant manager respectively. The consensus seems to be that O'Neill will make a basic salary of €1.3 million with Keane earning between €500,000 (according to the Irish Times and Irish Mirror) up to as much as €700,000 according to the Irish Daily Mail.
The Irish Times also have some names which could be part of the coaching team with Steve Walford, who worked with O'Neill at Leicester, Celtic, Aston Villa and Sunderland, Steve Guppy, who played under O'Neill at Leicester and Celtic and former Irish goalkeeper Seamus McDonagh all mentioned.
This should be very interesting.
