Greece sneaked into the second round of the World Cup with a 2-1 victory over Ivory Coast last night. It took a dramatic 11th hour penalty for Greece to edge passed Ivory Coast to second in Group C and book their place in the knockout stages. This Greek commentary of the exciting last gasp winner is absolutely priceless.
The Greeks took the lead in the 42nd minute when Andreas Samaris calmly slotted the ball into the net. Wilfried Bony pulled back level for The Elephants in the 74th minute and it looked like Greece were set for an early exit.
Georgios Samaras went down in a heap inside the box in added time and the referee awarded the Europeans a questionable penalty. The former Celtic striker stepped up and coolly converted the penalty in the third minute of injury time.
To say that these Greek commentators got a little bit excited at the thrilling finish to the match is an understatement. Despite not being in English, their enthusiasm is massively entertaining and shows that football transcends language barriers.
