Hilarious French Goalkeeper Error In Penalty Shootout

Reminiscent of the legendary Morroccan Khalid Askri, this French goalkeeper thought he had pulled off a vital save in a penalty shootout. The ball banged off his legs and ricocheted up in the air. It was at that moment that the goalkeeper decided, unwisely, to soak up the applause from the sparse crowd that attended this game. The spin on the ball undid him like it did Askri (and like it did Packie Bonner against Wim Kieft/Ronald Koeman in 1988 I suppose). The man holding the camera particularly enjoyed this anyway. What's known in internet land as a "fail."
