Angel di Maria had come under fire for not turning up to this World Cup. The Real Madrid striker failed to find the net in Argentina's first three matches but came good last night when he scored the winning goal against Switzerland in the round of 16.

It was all too much for one Argentinian commentator, who found the goal to be very a cathartic experience. After the standard South American commentary response of an elongated "Goooooooooal", Pablo Giralt of DIRECTTV SPORTS had a rather unusual reaction. Giralt broke down on air, weeping what we can only assume was tears of joy at his national side taking the lead in a match that had been frustratingly dull until that point.

Even though the clip is in Spanish, you don't need the full translation to give an educated guess as to what the Argentine is saying under muffled sobs.
