The rumours were true. Jordan Henderson has been officially unveiled as Liverpool's new club captain this morning via the club's Twitter account.

Although he still has a fair amount of doubters, imagine if you told fans a few years ago, during his first season at the club, that Henderson would end up replacing Gerrard as club captain. They'd have had had you committed. He has come a long way.
Henderson will lead the club out for his first Premier League game as the official club captain way to Stoke on 10 August.
