Helena Costa, who was appointed the manager of Clermont Foot last month, will not be taking charge of the team for the next season.

She apparently had a change of heart regarding the role. Club President Claude Michy described her decision as ‘sudden and surprising.’

Costa has previously worked as a Celtic scout and has coached the Iranian women’s team.

She was the first woman to be appointed head coach of a major European men's team.
