The initially heartbreaking but ultimately heartwarming tale of Malaysian Everton fan Ric Wee has brightened up even the most cynical of football watchers tonight.
Mr. Wee, an Everton supporter of thirty years standing, arrived tonight at Goodison Park to attend his first ever Everton game at home to Crystal Palace. He excitedly tweeted this photo earlier oblivious to the news which was coming down the track.
Finally, 30 years since supporting @Everton, will b watching EFC "live" for 1st time.

The wretched weather had it's wretched way with Ric and Everton's plans tonight (the cliche one is supposed to use here is that weather "played havoc" with the schedule etc). Building damage caused by the awful weather had sparked safety concerns and the game was called off. Ric took the news like a trooper and stoically tweeted this message.
Sadly @Everton v Palace match called off due to bad weather. Dream to watch EFC play will continue to be on hold. pic.twitter.com/N3xuMflLaX

Now I know those of you who are weary of the all-consuming Premiership are thinking that it serves him right for not going to see Kuala Lumpur Rovers instead but this was his one trek to Goodison Park in thirty years of following the Toffees through thick and mostly thin.
Someone in the Everton staff was made aware of the length he had traveled and ensured that he got to meet a couple of rather important men at the club

Despite the postponement, Wee had a memorable evening and tweeted this message paying tribute to his club
Today @Everton just prove again that its the People's Club taking extra effort to connect with fans. Salute the people running the club.
