Tributes have been flooding in from all angles after Robbie Keane today revealed that he is hanging his international boots after next week's friendly with Oman.

It's fantastic that the Irish fans will have a chance to give Robbie the sendoff he deserves, as after 145 caps and 67 goals, many fans wished they saw more of him at Euro 2016 with the expectancy that he would retire following Ireland's elimination from the tournament.

David Beckham took the time to show Keano some love on Instagram, but we called up one of Robbie's international strike partners to get an idea as to what the main man was like around the dressing room, and along with a glowing report as to the technical skills Robbie showed on the training ground, Clinton Morrison had a cracking suggestion for Robbie's next move after he retires from football fully...

The music industry.

Robbie's finishing was unbelievable, I used to stay out after training and do finishing with him and nine times out of ten he hits the target, and I'd be like 'how did you do that?' Just his shape was so good and right foot, left foot, headers... He was unreal.

He always trained like he played, he wanted to win, and he was a great leader. There was a lot to learn from him as a person.

And he was funny as well, he was always the team joker, him and Gary Kelly, when I was in the squad, would always have jokes with the physio Mick Byrne, making him do obstacle courses and jumping through water and all that stuff, just to be a character.

He was always at the front of everything, if something was going on, Robbie was at the front of it, he even fancied himself as a bit of a singer as well.

I think he could have a stint on the X-Factor when he has fully retired because I think he could be good at that. He loved it, whenever we went out as a team he would get up and sing, at the hotel he'd start the sing-a-longs and stuff like that. He could master anything, all the U2 songs, he thought he was Bono up there and then the lads would get going and everyone would join in. And now he's in LA, maybe he can get a record deal. Morrisey I'm sure could sort him out.

He was brilliant.

Fantastic stuff from Clinton, whose connection with Keano in an Ireland jersey is still fondly remembered to this day.

And because you're obviously going to want to see what Robbie's signing is like after that ringing endorsement, here's a clip of him making the crowd swoon in Gibney's:

Angelic.

His Hollywood connections will no doubt come in handy if he ever does want to enter that realm, but we reckon involvement in the Irish coaching staff is a far more likely destination.
