Has Giovanni Trapattoni applied for the Blackburn Rovers job?

The Vital Blackburn Rovers website has reported that Giovanni Trapattoni is one of the applicants for the vacant manager's role at the club.

This is just a rumour at the moment and is highly unlikely to happen but would the possibility of Trap leaving Ireland a welcome one?
