Gareth Bale is no longer the youngest player to be capped by Wales after Liverpool's Harry Wilson made his debut in the 87th minute of their 1-1 draw with Belgium on Tuesday night.
Wilson was just 16 years and 107 days old when he came on last night, a wee whipper-snapper in comparison to Bale who made his debut at 16 years and 215 days.
The debut was not just a great moment for Wilson but also his grandfather who had a bet with William Hill that he would one day become a Welsh international.
Wilson's grandfather made a bet of £50 at 2,500/1 when he Liverpool player was just two years old, pocketing him £125,000 when he stepped onto the pitch last night.
A spokesperson for William Hill said that Wilson's grandfather had been able to quit his job as a result of the win.
The father of Man Utd's Ryan Tunnicliffe won a similar bet last year when he made his Utd first-team debut.
