Malky Mackay Probably Could've Done Without This Defence From Harry Redknapp

Harry Redknapp has weighed in his opinion on Mackay-gate. The Queens Park Rangers boss admitted to the press today that he does not approve of Mackay's alleged racist, sexist and homophobic texts but he insisted that the former Cardiff manager is a good man.

I'm not condoning what he's done but he's (Mackay) not a bad person, he's a fantastic lad. Show me somebody who's never made a mistake and I’ll show you a liar.

He's not a rapist, he's not a paedophile. He's made a mistake and it shouldn't end his football career.

We're wondering why Redknapp came out with these quotes considering literally no one has been accusing Mackay of being some sort of sexual deviant. If not being a sex criminal was the only criteria for being considered a decent lad, then technically the likes of Adolf Hitler would qualify as being a sound dude. (We're not comparing Malky Mackay in any way to a race-hating, mass-murderer by the way. No need to lawyer up.)

Perhaps not being able to field questions from the press out of his car window has left the former Spurs manager a little flustered. Check out Redknapp's response to the Mackay fiasco below.
