12 minutes into the second half between Southampton and Spurs, Harry Kane had the opportunity, from the penalty spot, to extend his side's advantage to two goals after Dele Alli had been fouled in the area.
The England international was unable to convert the opportunity, skying the ball well over Fraser Forster's bar.
If there's any @NFL teams looking for a kicker in the future, have a look at my game tonight! 😉 #SOUTOT

As he turned away from goal, Kane looked forlornly at the ground. If Kane was looking for an excuse, he had a valid one - the St. Mary's pitch.
As Kane planted his left foot next to the ball on his run up, the turf gave way, rising and lifting the ball with it. The angle at which Kane had intended to strike the ball was compromised. Blame for the miss cannot be solely credited to Kane's column, some of it will also have to go to the St. Mary's ground staff.
Here's the frame-by-frame.
The penalty would be immaterial in the end with Spurs going on to win 4-1.
