Harry Kane marked his Bundesliga debut with a goal and an assist, as Bayern Munich defeated Werder Bremen 4-0 in their opening league game of the season.

It took just three minutes for the England captain to make an impact on the night, as he laid on a pass for Leroy Sane to close in and score.

Kane was heavily involved throughout the game, dropping deep in a way that Spurs became accustomed to in the latter part of his career in North London, while also providing a threat as a traditional number 9.

On the hour mark, it looked like Kane was about to open his account for his new club, but his right-footed shot from outside the box was saved by Bremen goalkeeper Jiri Pavlenka.

Just 15 minutes later, the 30-year-old did manage to get his name on the scoresheet, when he received a pass from Alphonso Davies before cooly finishing in typical Kane fashion.

With his goal out of the way, hopes of further strikes were dashed when Kane was substituted on 84 minutes, before Sane and Mathys Tel wrapped up a 4-0 win in injury-time.

The result was in stark contrast to Kane's official Bayern debut last week, when he came on for the final half-hour of a 3-0 defeat to RB Leipzig in the German Super Cup.

Harry Kane speaks after debut

All in all, it seems like the striker is settling in well in his new surroundings and enjoying the Bundesliga experience, as he indicated in a post-match interview.

"We've seen my game, I like to drop deep and link play in the last four or five years,' he said. "I think with the pace we have in this team, it works perfectly.

"I'm a No 9 first and foremost so I have to get in the box and make the runs forward. I'm really happy, we have a fantastic squad and I'm excited to be a part of it."

'The fans from both sides were incredible the whole game, really different to some of the Premier League atmospheres I've experienced."

The next opportunity for Kane to impress will come on Sunday August 27th, when Bayern host an Augsburg side who narrowly avoided relegation last season.
