Power Ranking The Ever-Elusive Harchester United Jerseys From 'Dream Team'

Power Ranking The Ever-Elusive Harchester United Jerseys From 'Dream Team'

When Dream Team was at the height of its popularity on Sky One, a number of retailers decided it would be a good idea to sell their shirts alongside the actual real football teams' jerseys in sports stores across the UK and Ireland.

Ever since the decision was made to stop selling them, however, they have been ridiculously hard to find for fans of the show who wish to have a memento to hold on to, or a jersey to wear to 5-a-side to get a conversation going.

You'll see a few pop up on eBay or Adverts.ie every now and then if you are lucky, but while the chances of finding one these days are low, we thought it would be fitting to keep Dream Team Week on Balls.ie rolling with a tribute to the Harchester United jerseys.

We're almost certain we've got all of them, and it's clear to see which brand is our preference, so without further ado here are the rankings.

#9 - Valsport - The final jersey on the show.

A shocker. The design is awful and the purple is a dull shade, the jersey is made even worse by the crap redesigned logo and Valsport's odd backwards 'c'. Comfortably the most forgettable.

#8 - Valsport - The woefully bland one.

For an away jersey, the decision to move away from orange was a good one, but this might be the most boring football shirt ever made. [via Michael84.co.uk]

#7 - Valsport - The bright orange one with the terrible logo.

Decent shade of orange but it's not something anyone would be willing to wear. Again, made worse by the redesigned logo.

#6 - Le Coq Sportif - Even brighter orange, but a much nicer effort.

We're starting to get to the good ones now as Le Coq Sportif enter the rankings with their worst jersey, the bad - but not that bad - bright organge away jersey from Fletch's prime.

#5 - Valsport - The most boring purple shirt seen on the show.

Decent, but seriously unspectacular, the worst of the home jerseys is still better than the best of the away ones.

#4 - Le Coq Sportif - The original.

Classic. For those of us who tuned in to the start, the first introduction to the team was this beauty. [H/T: Robert White]

#3 - Le Coq Sportif - The widely popular shiney-purple number.

This easily could have been number one as it is the jersey most people associate with the show, and is the one that went on general sale first. While it's a beauty, we feel the top 2 have more to offer.

#2 - Le Coq Sportif - The Leicester City rip-off.

A blatant design choice to make the slightly blurred and color-altered Leicester City players look more like Harchester United players, it still made for a classic jersey in the early seasons.

#1 - Le Coq Sportif - The perfect balance.

We didn't see much of this beautiful football jersey on the show as it came at the end of the Le Coq Sportif era, but it was the perfect balance in terms of looking like an actual football jersey. The Chinese sponsorship detail after the origins of 'Dream Inc' became clear was a nice touch too.
