On September 6, 2011 - which was one year ago today - in the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow, Richard Dunne was responsible for one of the most memorable performances by footballer in an Ireland jersey. Without his heroic defending that day, Ireland would not have qualified for the European Championships. He pulled goals off the line, stopped the ball like a monster and threw his body around the pitch with abandon, destroying his jersey in the process.
All day today on Balls.ie, we'll be commemorating that day, a day that should be a bank holiday. We ask that all readers perform a random act of heroism today, for the day that's in it.
