Among those in England hysterically giving out on Twitter two weekends ago about James McClean's refusal to wear the poppy on his jersey against Everton was Mancheste-based doorman and self-described 'ex-army lad' Cody Lachey, aka @codydoorman. Lachey sent a number of threatening tweets in the direction of McClean and even included photos of bullets. He then engaged An Phoblacht over their story on McClean and threatened the life of the Derryman.
Police in Northumbria have announced that they are investigating social media 'threats' in the direction of McClean, and Twitter has stepped in and suspended Lachey's account. Lachey has accepted that he'll probably go to jail over his rant, and we can only hope he does.
