Jonás Gutiérrez is a hero on Tyneside and a lot of Newcastle fans were very upset to see him leave the club this summer, especially considering the rather cold circumstances in which he was released.
Despite all he had achieved in his recovery from cancer, Gutiérrez was informed of his release over the phone, and was reportedly then asked to pass the phone to Ryan Taylor, who he was with at the time, who was then informed he was also released.
While Ryan Taylor signed for Hull City, poor old Jonás had a bit more doubt surrounding his future as he headed into deadline day waiting for a deal to be completed, but there's good news for him today as Deportivo La Coruna have confirmed that they have signed the Argentina international subject to a medical.
