Granit Xhaka was one of the heroes as Bayer Leverkusen made history on Sunday by winning the first Bundesliga title of their 120-year history.
The destination of this year's Bundesliga has been a foregone conclusion for some time, with Bayern Munich's bid for a 12th consecutive title falling apart in recent weeks.
As Thomas Tuchel's men have faltered, Xabi Alonso's Leverkusen have marched on, and confirmation of their maiden league success came courtesy of a 5-0 victory at home to Werder Bremen on Sunday.
A first-half Victor Boniface penalty got the BayArena party started but it was Xhaka's long-range strike on the hour that put any doubt to bed.
The former Arsenal midfielder received the ball on a plate from Boniface before firing from all of 25 yards with a first touch on his left foot.

Granit Xhaka helps Leverkusen to historic title
The goal caused the stadium to erupt and in true Bundesliga style, the Eurodance blared from the speakers as realisation kicked in for the Leverkusen faithful.
There was still time for Florian Wirtz to score a late hat-trick and put serious gloss on an evening that will never be forgotten in the German city.
It has been a truly remarkable campaign for Alonso's men, as they are yet to lose a game in any competition and remain in the hunt for a treble of Bundesliga, German Cup and Europa League.
There is to be a new name on the Bundesliga trophy:

Xabi Alonso in demand after Bundesliga success
Their season hasn't gone unnoticed by clubs across Europe, with many now coveting Alonso, although he recently confirmed that he will be staying with Leverkusen for the foreseeable future.
Xhaka's big moment came as his former club Arsenal slipped up in the Premier League title race, with a 2-0 defeat at home to Aston Villa.
Having been part of the Gunners side that gave up a big lead to Manchester City last season, the Swiss midfielder finally has a moment for his career to be remembered by.
