Graeme Souness has warned that Antonio Conte is playing "dangerous games" with his carry on at Spurs.
Souness was speaking on Sky Sports ahead of Spurs' crucial game away to Crystal Palace, with a poor run of form leaving Spurs outside the top four.
While they may have run out comfortable 4-0 winners tonight, there's no doubt there still problems at the club that need addressing.
During this difficult period for Spurs, Conte hasn't been shy in voicing his anger at the hierarchy at the club, with numerous sly digs at the owners.
Despite Conte making signings in the summer, it's obvious he was not helped by the board to land his preferred targets. This has left tensions high, especially when performances haven't been up to standard.
Souness Warns Conte Over Comments
Conte has proven in both England and Italy that when backed, he is a proven winner, having won the Premier League at Chelsea in 2017.
However, his recent comments after games will worry Spurs fans. He has refused to give his commitment to the club, with his contract set to expire in the summer. If he doesn't receive reinsurances in the transfer market, it won't be long before another club takes full advantage.
While some people would praise him for standing up to the board, Graeme Souness doesn't think this can end well for Conte.
The narrative is they aren't playing well, they're not playing good football. I think he's had two transfer windows this will be the third one, that's premature for the way they've played. They've dug out results.
We all know the nature of the game. If you are a big football club and you are not winning games, you're not deemed to be playing the correct way, and you're looking to be putting the owner or chairman under pressure because you want more players.
He is a serial winner, the stats would tell you that. I think it's a dangerous tactic he's imploying at this time, and generally there's only ever one winner, the guys who make the decisions above him."
From Mauricio Pochettino, to Jose Mourinho, to now Antonio Conte, Spurs have had world-class managers who have had problems with the board.
If Conte was to leave over the current problems, fans will be furious that another proven manager has been let down.
