Liverpool's next home game is not until May 5th against Villareal. So, as Everton were playing at home today, it gave the other side of Merseyside the chance to pay tribute to the Hillsborough families following their momentous week.

There was a sustained period of applause - backed by The Hollies' 'He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother' - as the families walked onto the pitch and were recognised by the Everton fans.

In the pre-match warm-up, Everton players wore t-shirts emblazoned with the words 'Truth and Justice', while the match programme cover was also a tribute to the families.
