It was a dark day for football yesterday with Glenn Hoddle's collapse in the BT Sport studio coupled with Leicester City's owner involvement in a helicopter crash, marring the day's Premier League action.
Hoddle took ill in the build up to his scheduled appearance on BT Sport Score, with presenter Jake Humphries revealing that the former England manager had taken seriously ill:
Our friend & colleague Glenn Hoddle was taken seriously ill at the BT Sport studio this morning.
For that reason there will be no @btsportscore - but we will be live as usual for the 5.30 ko at Leicester.
Everyone of us is right with you Glenn, sending love & strength ❤️

It has been reported that the 61-year-old suffered a heart attack, though a spokesman for Hoddle's family has since given a positive update on his current situation:
The condition is serious but Glenn is receiving specialist treatment and responding well. Glenn’s family are with him and would like to thank everyone that has sent their support.
They have also asked for their privacy to be respected.
The family are grateful to everyone in the football family - and beyond - that have sent kind messages of support. They are very much appreciated.
In particular, Glenn and his family would like to publicly thank the BT Sport staff that treated him immediately on set following his collapse.
Glenn is now in the care of the professional NHS medical services, who have also been exemplary in helping him and the family during the last 24 hours.
Doctors have advised the most important thing for Glenn is time to rest. Therefore, his family have reiterated the request for their privacy to be respected during this period.
Robbie Savage, who would have been in the BT Sport studio ahead of broadcast tweeted his support for his friend:
Worst experience of my life today , thoughts and prayers with Glenn and his family , so proud of our bt sport team today , all heroes especially Simon

It appears that the quick action of a BT Sport employee may have saved Hoddle's life, with Savage referencing sound supervisor Simon Daniels' actions and Daniel's himself tweeting that he just did what was necessary in assisting the former footballer:
@PaulInce @markpougatch @julesbreach so pleased that Glenn is now getting the best care possible in hospital. Just did what was necessary to give him a fighting chance. Thoughts are with his family. It was my training as a Special Constable that paid off @SSGT9201
