''No One Gave Us A Fucking Chance'' - Cork 'Keeper Gives Epic Speech Following Cup Win

We've had some fantastic post match speeches in the sporting world this season. John O'Dwyer's immediately after Tipperary's All-Ireland victory. The O'Donovan brothers shtick on shteak and spuds. We can now add the Mark McNulty speech to that list.

The Cork City goalkeeper picked up his second FAI Cup winners medal yesterday after their thrilling victory over league champions Dundalk. The team arrived back to Soho Bar on Patrick Street late last night, but that didn't stop them celebrating. McNulty got a hold of an open microphone and gave some quotes from the ages.

There's wasn't one fucking pundit in this country that gave us a chance. Everyone's saying Dundalk this Dundalk that. They're doing well in Europe. We went three fucking rounds in Europe! There's no one saying anything about fucking Cork!

McNulty was the only member of the Cork starting 11 yesterday that played against Derry City six years ago. That was the first game after coming out of examinership for the club, so the stopper knew all about the hardships.

The half time team talk from manager John Caulfield seems to have done the trick for the Rebel Army. At least, that's what we think McNulty was getting at.

First half yeah we were poor. John Caulfield said to us 'Are we going to go back to fucking Cork disappointed and saying we're fucking shite?! No we fucking are not! We'll give it a go. If it's good enough it's fucking good enough.

Sean Maguire grabbed his 29th goal of the season in the last minute of extra time to give Cork their third FAI Cup title. After spending 15 years at the club, we think we can forgive McNulty for letting his emotions (and perhaps a pint of Beamish or two) get the better of him.
