After Shane Long's £12 million move to Southampton was routinely castigated this week, many would have been hoping that the Tipperary man would grab his chance with both hands. Long started on the bench for his new side and having been brought on shortly before Liverpool re-took the lead, Long's big chance came a couple of moments from the end when the ball dropped to him after an incredible save by Simon Mignolet. It didn't really go to plan.
Granted, Long probably should have nodded in the equaliser but in any other game he'd be quickly forgiven. However, given that £12 million fee, the reaction wasn't overly positive.
Shane Long's miss against Liverpool - Staggering that clubs have spent an accumulated £25M in transfer fees on him.

What Southampton paid for Shane Long would have bought you 200 Seamus Coleman's, and Seamus scores more goals

On the Shane Long miss, just saying if you spent £12,000,000 on a striker, you'd expect him to at least hit the target from 3 feet out!!

Looking at it again that was a terrible miss from @Shanelong009 think his mind was in @CrokePark and #Tipperary
