You're 4-1 up in what should have been one of the biggest tests of the year and the game is petering out. The rational reaction to that would be to let it go the way it was going and celebrate the win. Instead of doing that, Richie Towell is now facing a barrage of criticism for what is surely one of the stupidest acts seen in the Airtricity League this season.
With the game finished as a contest, Stephen O'Donnell and Towell challenged St. Pats midfielder Jamie McGrath who went down only to have the Dundalk man decide to flick a boot back up into his face as he was lying on the ground.
He may well be the best player in the League but there's few who could legitimately defend that kind of behaviour. Unsurprisingly, Towell's actions have not gone down well.
What is Towell thinking there at all? Considering the scoreline at the time, what could he possibly be frustrated about?

@SeanDMRooney @luke_oriordan Sneaky and Scummy. Hope to God they manage to suspend him over it.

Seriously, what kind of a nutjob lashes out like Towell when their team is 4-1 up and coasting? Wasn't even score settling. Beyond stupid
