Celtic had never won a Champions League away game until yesterday evening. They had been beaten in their last 11 consecutive Champions League away game but yesterday they put in a brilliant performance to win 3-2 against Spartak Moscow.
Gary Hooper scored Celtic's opener with a deft finish from a Mikael Lustig cross.
But then two goals either side of half time from Emanuele Emenike, the first in the 41st and the second in the 48th minute gave Spartak the lead.
In the 63rd minute Spartak Moscow defender Juan Manuel Insaurralde was sent off for bringing down Gary Hooper when through on goal. The referee and his assistants took their time over the decision but eventually sent the player off.
In the 71st minute another great Celtic move brought them level with the ball eventually going in off Spartak player Dimitri Kombarov.
In the 90th minute Emilio Izaguirre swung in a great cross for Giorgios Samaras to nod home brilliantly ending Celtic's away day hoodoo in the Champions League.
