A tale of penalties at Old Trafford as Steven Gerrard scored two and missed one to help Liverpool to a 3-0 win over United, with Luis Suarez scoring their third.

The Uruguayan made the most of a poor Sturridge shot six minutes from time to round off a dreadful afternoon for the reigning Premier League champions.

After converting the first two penalties, Gerrard missed his third, although perhaps it never should have been given.

Nemanja Vidic can rightly feel aggrieved after getting sent off and conceding the spot kick for this challenge. Looks a lot more like a Daniel Sturridge dive.

Liverpool went 2-0 up thanks to a second Steven Gerrard penalty. This one came after a Phil Jones foul.
