You may remember Jay Emmanuel Thomas' wonderfully lengthy run-up to a penalty against Yeovil at the end of December. Well, the one-time Arsenal wonderkid and current Bristol City average midfielder is back, and he's broken his own record.
Against Yeovil he took a languid 7/8 steps before slotting home. During Bristol's 2-0 win over Scunthorpe yesterday we counted 11 steps and that's not even including the square dancing with the opposition beforehand.
It's certainly an unusual technique but it's also effective.
