Louis Van Gaal is still without a competitive victory in charge of Man Utd after Burnley held them to a 0-0 draw at Turf Moor. While Sean Dyche's men may have had quite a lot of the play in the first half, they were perhaps fortunate to come away with the draw after referee Martin Atkinson chose not to give a penalty for Ashley Barnes' apparent handball late in the game.
BT Sport have said that the referee's association claimed that because the ball came off Barnes' body first that may have prevented Atkinson from pointing to the spot. Given the footage, that seems like a rather weak excuse and you can't help but wondering would it have happened if Fergie was still in charge.
