One Of The Great Football Cliches Featuring Ireland's Group D Opponents Gibraltar

This is one of my favourite football cliches. Anytime a smaller nation makes an international appearance there has to be graphic of their starting lineup featuring the respective occupations of each player. Sky Sports obliged last night with one for Ireland's group D European Championship qualifying opponents Gibraltar as they lost 7-0 to Poland (Robert Lewandoski scored four.)

Their starting team featured two professional players, Scott Wiseman of Preston and Liam Walker who plays in the Israeli second division.

For anyone wondering, Gibraltar's most well-known player, Danny Higginbottom, retired back in January.

We play Gibraltar in our next qualifying game at Lansdowne Road on October 11th.
