Getafe did their duty in front of Leo Messi and Barcelona Thursday night in the Copa Del Ray going out 6-0 on aggregate. Messi scored a sumptuous goal and seemed to have the narrative of the game all to himself yet again but a story emerged after that quickly stole it from him.
During the game, Getafe player Alex Ruano was forced off with an injury. Afterwards Getafe coach, Luis Garcia explained the full horror of the injury:
"One of Alexis's testicles was like this" he said, holding up his hands to show a handball-sized ball. "He has broken some veins. It's nothing serious . The swelling has already gone down, he should be fine for Sunday. I was shocked when I went into the dressing room, but it's not serious. I'd never seen anything like it"
