As the world went wild for non-league hero Jamie Vardy finding the net for the 11th consecutive Premier League game, a former Premier League striker chimed in with a "congratulations" that was actually a reminder that he was good at football once.
That striker was Pierre Van Hooijdonk, a typical Dutch footballer if ever there was one who scored goals when he wasn't busy falling out with everyone and going on strike at Nottingham Forest.
He tweeted to let the world know that Vardy has done well, but not quite as good as him:

What Van Hooijdonk is referring to here is the time he scored in 11 consecutive league games, 14 games in all competitions, in his last season for NAC Breda in the Eredivise.
With all due respect to the Eredivisie, it's not quite making the jump from non-league football to the Premier League and then scoring in 11 consecutive games for Leicester City.
