Fresh from spending two years in the Chinese Super League, the former Arsenal player Gervinho has found himself playing for Parma in Serie A. While some suspected that the sojourn in China may dampen his capabilities in a top European league, on today's evidence, he is doing just fine.
With the North London club for two seasons, the Ivorian winger moved from Arsenal to Roma; a club at which he demonstrated his abilities all the better.
Now back in Italy, Gervinho grabbed his second goal of the season in some style this afternoon.
Taking on Cagliari at home, little or nothing appeared to be on as Gervinho received the ball deep within his own half.
Marauding through the variety of players who attempted to take him on, the Ivorian all but ran the length of the pitch before finishing with superb accuracy.
A truly remarkable goal, it has to be seen to be appreciated.
Confesso: pensavo che con #Gervinho il @1913parmacalcio avesse fatto una scelta sbagliata. Pensavo male, evidentemente #ParmaCagliari https://t.co/WYld15iKCI
