The city of Belo Horizonte was the scene of one of Brazil's darkest hours. Germany, with help from a shambolic Brazilian defence, ended the dreams of the host nation in the most emphatic fashion imaginable.
First, Thomas Muller put Germany ahead after 11 minutes.
Miroslav Klose then became the top scorer in World Cup history on 23 minutes.
One minute later Toni Kroos joined in to make it 3-0.
On 26 minutes he added another.
Sami Khedira made it 5 after 29 minutes.
They stepped off the gas until 20 minutes from the end when Andre Schurrle decided it was too long since Germany had scored.
Schurrle then added a 7th ten minutes later.
You could hardly call it a consolation but Oscar did manage to pull one back a couple of minutes from the end.
