There have been enough claims coming out since the FIFA scandal originally broke that it has been tough to keep up, or stay interested, for that matter. But then along come German Newspaper, Die Zeit, claiming that the German FA sent a shipment of rocket launchers to Saudi Arabia to earn their support for their 2006 World Cup hosting bid.
According to the paper, the Saudi's had originally intended on backing the Moroccan bid until the German government intervened by sending a few grenade launchers their way. The German's ended up beating South Africa in the vote to host the World Cup by 12-11. It would appear that the Germans demonstrated their stereotypical precision with this well considered gift.
