Presumably they weren't crazy about getting knocked out of the tournament by France but, according to a full page ad taken out by the German Football Association in L'Equipe today, they seemed to like everything else.
Throughout the Euros L'Equipe have been incredibly gracious towards fans of other nations - particularly Ireland and Northen Ireland, with fans from both teams being awarded medals of commendation for generally being great craic for the last few weeks.
L'Equipe even included a wonderful tribute to our fans after the Italy match a fortnight ago, dedicating a full two-page spread to their "deep happiness" in hosting the Boys In Green for another few days.
Well this time around it's France getting praise from another nation, although we're not entirely sure if the Germans would extend this grace towards Antoine Griezmann whose two goals knocked them out of the tournament, but you never know...
The Germans have taken a full page ad out in today's L'Equipe to thank the French for their hospitality. #Euro2016 pic.twitter.com/XnumTblJWq
