To say that Georgie Kelly has endeared himself to Rotherham fans would be an understatement. The Donegal man - who previously lined out for UCD, St. Pats, and Bohemians - is already being labelled as a cult-hero at the club.
That reputation grew even further today as he came off the bench, to much applause, before scoring the winner in their 2-1 Championship win over Huddersfield.
His post-match interview also garnered much praise, with Kelly's humble and extremely likeable personality shining through.
There's a lot of moving parts," said Georgie Kelly after the game. "I'm just happy if I get a chance to try and chip-in and work. There's a little bit of luck involved too, but I'll take anything I can get.
Even the lads were saying there that when I came on that the roar of the fans was made, it was as if we had scored. Which gives everyone a little boost and the whole squad. It's great I'm delighted to even be here with the fans.
I wouldn't say I'm a bit of a hero yet, I've scored a couple of goals, I've scored three goals for the club. It's mad when you think about it. I'm just grateful.

It was also the first win under new boss Matt Taylor, who was full of praise for Kelly.
“I am still learning about Georgie, he seems to be a cult hero in these parts due to last season. But in terms of the impact with his physicality he is second to none. He was on his knees when he scored the goal as well. That was a big moment for us.
“He was in the right place at the right time and he did affect the game with his physicality.
“You could sense the atmosphere just changing as he came on. We have got to keep working with him because he’s raw.”
