RTE Commentator George Hamilton, last night tweeted about Giovanni Trapattoni's recent competitive record for Ireland. It doesn't make for nice reading sadly.
Trap's last 5 competitive: D1 L4. Charlton's final 5 - D1 L4. McCarthy, Kerr, Staunton never had a run like that. #rtesocccer

Apologies. Last tweet should of course have read W1 L4. Identical records for Charlton's finale & Trap's last 5 competitive #rtesocccer

All four of those losses have come against teams ranked higher in the FIFA World Rankings, but as John O'Shea said on Friday night after the humiliation on Friday night, "There's a way to lose a match".
Is our Italian manager running on borrowed time?
