Gavin Bazunu has been linked with a move straight back to the Premier League, after his Southampton side were relegated.
Bazunu played almost every game in the Premier League this season, before manager Ruben Selles desperately tried to make a change towards the end of the season by bringing in the far more experienced Alex McCarthy.
This didn't have the desired effect though, as Southampton continued to drop points after Bazunu was dropped, with the side actually conceding more goals on average in the games the young Dubliner didn't play in.
While it was undeniably a difficult first year in the Premier League for the Ireland international, Bazunu's stock clearly hasn't fallen too much, as there is still interest in him from some massive clubs.
Gavin Bazunu linked with Spurs transfer
Spurs are reportedly keen on bringing the youngster to London next season for a reasonable fee of £15 million.
According to Football Insider, Bazunu could be purchased for just slightly more than what Southampton paid for him last summer, due to the fact his team were relegated.
This report comes just days after it was revealed that club captain Hugo Lloris would be leaving Spurs at the end of the season.
With Fraser Forster's best days behind him, Spurs will almost definitely be looking for a new first-choice goalkeeper, and Bazunu could be the man for the job.
After a difficult start to life at the top level, many may question if a high-profile move like this is right for the former Shamrock Rovers man.
But he has shown on multiple occasions throughout his career that he doesn't let the bright lights impact him too much, and he would likely jump at the chance to be playing for a team the size of Tottenham.
Gavin Bazunu wanted by Spurs
Spurs have been interested in Bazunu for a long time, with reports dating back to 2018, showing the London clubs have been keeping tabs for quite some time.
More recently, a source from close to Spurs revealed the club "regret" not signing Bazunu last summer when they had the chance.
