AC Milan are reported to be considering ending Tiemoue Bakayoko's loan spell early and sending the midfielder back to Chelsea.

The 24-year-old has failed to impress with the Italian giants and frustrated boss Gennaro Gattuso has made no secret of his discontent with his level of performance. He admitted in a recent interview that he is unsure if he can address the player's issues: "One week is not enough to remove the defects of a player. I would have preferred to be managing older, more experienced club players.”

Now, per Corriere dello Sport, Gattuso is weighing up whether the loan spell is worth seeing out. It comes after AC Milan fans publicly voiced their irritation with the situation, with some even creating a GoFundMe to finance costs for his return.

The Frenchman impressed while at Monaco, but failed to settle with Chelsea and was shipped out on loan. France manager Didier Deschamps once labelled him "a complete midfielder" and a return to Chelsea, under the guidance of new coach Maurizio Sarri, could prove beneficial in reviving his career.
