Manchester United are likely to undergo some sweeping changes over the coming months.
With results on the pitch continuing to underwhelm and the footballing structures within the club receiving plenty of criticism, it seems all but certain that new minority owner Jim Ratcliffe will conduct a major overhaul in numerous areas at Old Trafford.
The appointment of a director of football will be a priority, as will a new head of recruitment. They are likely to be the first moves, with a decision around the future of the manager and large portions of their playing staff set to follow.
Quite a few player in the current squad have consistently underwhelmed during their time at the club. Despite this, there have been rumours that some of them were set to extend their stays with the team.

Gary Neville intrigued by Manchester United handling of two players
Raphael Varane and Victor Lindelof are two players that have failed to solve the issues at centre back in recent season, with both defenders arriving at Old Trafford with big expectations only to fail to live up to the hype.

Taking to social media, Gary Neville said that the way Manchester United handle these two players could be telling in relation to the way things will be done under Jim Ratcliffe.

If United are looking to renew Lindelof and Varane (on reduced terms) I’m worried. We have to start afresh as much as possible.
Whilst these two aren’t bad players by any stretch, a message must be sent to everyone inside and outside of the club that it’s not going to tolerate the levels over the last few years.
If Manchester United are to harbour ambitions of challenging for the biggest honours in the near future, they need to move on players who have underperformed such as Varane and Lindelof.
Jim Ratcliffe has the opportunity to make a real statement of intent in the months ahead, with this being one way to do it.
