Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville took aim at The Sun on Twitter this afternoon after they took his comments regarding imminent Manchester United signing Romelu Lukaku out of context.
His response was blunt and to the point as he labelled The Sun 'fuckwits' for running a story claiming that he was unhappy with the signing, using only the negative aspects of a tweet he had earlier published.
That's not what I said you F@@kwits! https://t.co/Osyr3TDl8V

Straight to the point.
Here is what Neville had tweeted originally on Lukaku, where he acknowledged that he has never been the Belgian's biggest fan but that he could produce the goods for Man Utd after being asked for his opinion by a fan:
He's incredibly talented and I've seen him destroy defences but personally I've never been his biggest fan . However he will score goals . https://t.co/UPFo03j8zT

He went missing in too many matches I saw ,but with a better team + players around him he has an improved chance to deliver in big matches https://t.co/irSpNsIqCL

Despite clearly stating that he feels he can improve on what had concerned him initially, The Sun's headline looked like this:
It's deliberately misleading, as anyone intrigued by a Manchester United legend blasting their new mega money signing for going missing in big games would instead see a tweet by Neville claiming that his new teammates could help solve that problem.
Funnily enough, one of the first comments when The Sun published the story on Twitter was someone calling them out and claiming that Neville would have his own say.
I definitely expect Gary to respond because he never said that

It's poor form, which will not come as a surprise to many. Neville's reaction was fair, and funny.
