After Liverpool claimed a last-gasp winner at Goodison Park on Monday night, two of the best pundits around had a go at compiling the best team from the first four months of the Premier League season.
While #MERSEYMONDAY was widely ridiculed for being a let down, which seems to happen every time Sky Sports decided to give a match a Hollywood title, having the MNF strikeforce that did so well last season in Carragher and Neville made up for it.
Once the former Liverpool man settled down from celebrating Mane's late winner like a madman, the two were tasked with selecting their XI's of players who have impressed them the most since August. And there were a number of interesting selections.
Neville, who as recently November had Marcus Rashford ahead of Zlatan Ibrahimovic in his ideal Man Utd XI, selected the big Swede as one of the best strikers in the league.
Gary Neville's XI:
My team is dominated by Chelsea with three out of the back five. In midfield I have gone for Fernandinho alongside Kante because he has been excellent in central midfield for Manchester City.
"It was Lallana, Mane or De Bruyne on the right. I couldn't decide between those three, but I went for Lallana because I felt he shaded it.
"Hazard is a no-brainer and I went for Ibrahimovic and Costa up front.
And for Carragher, he opted for Sunderland's Jordan Pickford as the most impressive goalkeeper in the league, a good shout considering the amount of work he has had to do in comparison to other goalkeepers in the league.
Jamie Carragher's XI:
I've gone with maybe a surprise selection in goal with Jordan Pickford at Sunderland. The reason I've gone for him is, besides Jermain Defoe, he is maybe Sunderland's most important player and I can't really say that about another keeper in the league.
The rest was fairly straightforward. I don't think the defending has been great, so there's no surprise I've got two Chelsea players there. I think Azpilicueta is the best defender in the league and if there was any full-back in the league I'd want in my team it would be Azpilicueta. You know what you are getting week in and week out.
David Luiz has been outstanding and deserves to be there and I think Van Dijk is the next big-money signing from Southampton.
You can watch a clip with their reasoning over on Sky Sports, and while we're disappointed to not see a single Irish player in the discussion, it is also completely understandable in every way.
The real learnings to be taken from these teams are that Chelsea are by far the best team in the league this season, which everybody already knew anyway, so, yeah.
When it came to picking a best overall player, Diego Costa was the unanimous choice as was Anotnio Conte for best manager, but interestingly the one to watch section contained a little-known French footballer working his way into the Manchester United side.
We'll have to keep an eye out for him, he sounds promising.
