Gary Neville poked fun at Manchester City on Twitter last night. The former Manchester United right-back replied to a tweet by the editor of a Red Devils fanzine and used the opportunity to score some points on his rival team.
Neville said he would welcome the Premier Champions into the restaurant he co-owns with Ryan Giggs for a celebratory meal with open arms. His willingness to let his arch rivals into the establishment was purely for the good of his business, he attested.
The Sky Sports pundit was mocking Man City's deep pockets and the fact that their fans have a tendency to leave games early. His joke is a variation on the "Is there a fire drill?" chant in this regard.
Despite consistently showing impartiality in his punditry duties, Neville proved that the United colours don't run with his jocular remark at the expense of the Citizens.
@AndyMitten of course they just overpay and leave early!! Perfect for a restaurant! Haha
