Cristiano Ronaldo appeared to ignore Gary Neville as he warmed up prior to Manchester United’s clash against Newcastle.
The Portugal striker has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons this season as he struggles to earn a place in Manchester United’s starting line-up.
Ronaldo’s behaviour has been criticised by several pundits, especially since refusing to come on as a substitute in Manchester United’s 2-0 victory over Spurs, with Erik Ten Hag brining him back into the starting line up in the Premier League for a rare start.
Erik Ten Hag has been praised by many for his decision making over the issue. He left Ronaldo out of last weekend’s draw with Chelsea before bringing him back into the side in the Europa League victory over Sheriff.
One of those to praise Ten Hag is Ronaldo’s former teammate Gary Neville, who has praised Ten Hag for how he handled the situation, particularly after Manchester United's slow start to the season.
"He has established authority and control which you have to have at this club and the fans are with him" 👊

"I honestly thought it was going to be a nightmare for him this first season. How he recovered so quickly from that before Liverpool, handling the Maguire situation, handling the Ronaldo situation.
I think he has established authority and control which you have to have at this club, and the fans are definitely with him."
Prior to today’s game, Ronaldo greeted members of the Sky panel, shaking hands with Roy Keane before going back to the rest of his teammates.
However, despite greeting Louis Saha and Jamie Redknapp, he ignored the presence of his former teammate and continued his warm up.

Manchester United moved up to fifth in the table after today’s victory over West Ham. The player who has often been picked ahead of Ronaldo as striker, Marcus Rashford, scored his 100th goal for the club with a powerful header from Christian Eriksen’s cross.
Ronaldo missed a brilliant opportunity to extend Manchester United's lead on the hour mark, but blazed it over the bar.
West Ham threw everything at Manchester United searching for an equaliser, with a brilliant save from David De Gea who rolled back the years to keep out Michail Antonio and help Manchester United to victory.
