In a story that has since disappeared from their website, the Sun today claimed that Gary Lineker had been involved in a tax-avoidance scheme which has left him with a £1.3 million tax bill. The Match Of The Day presenter was, according to the Sun, involved in Ingenious, a media company that HMRC have said is more interested in tax loopholes than actual media work.
The newspaper today claimed that Lineker's involvement with the company would mean that he has 90 days to pay back the tax bill. However, in a series of tweets, Lineker has denied the Sun's claims.
The Sun has done another truth avoidance piece on its front page. I look forward to the tiny apology on page 47 in a few weeks time.

He then made sure to have his say before confirming that he had opened legal proceedings against the newspaper.
@1872chriskerr always paid my tax, in full. Nothing hidden.
