Referee Mike Dean was the centre of attention on Chelsea's 2-0 win against Arsenal in Saturday's early Premier League kick-off.
Dean sent off two Arsenal players, including Gabriel in the first half after some trademark skullduggery from Diego Costa.
Speaking on BBC, Garth Crooks was extremely critical of Dean, saying that the referee wants to 'be the star too often'.
Mike Dean is a really good referee but he has one fault - he wants to be the star too often. It's really getting on my nerves. He's spoiling great games.
It's not about you, Mike, it's about the game. People pay good money to see good football. Not for you to be over officious like a petulant school teacher.
